Luz Trujillo, Dave's sister-in-law, is her family's third-generation owner of the farm, which is in the Tarrazu Region of Costa Rica. Luz not only tends to the needs of the coffee plants, she is a caring manager of those who work for her, providing for their housing needs and health care.
The Costa Rican beans from the Santa Elana Estates have achieved a high specialty grade from independent graders. The mountain environment gives these beans flavore notes of roasted almond and brown sugar.
